About Party Qs
In 2013, a husband and wife began hosting a small group of friends every week at their apartment. After dinner, there was always a group discussion. To focus the room, the group always chose an interesting question that everyone took turns answering to get to know each other.
Over the years, the husband Dave kept track of the best questions from this small group in a note until one day, he had a conversation with a college friend named CP.
They discussed the idea of creating an easy-to-use conversation starter app, one with simple design and good questions. They called it Party Qs.

Dave and CP both believed that Party Qs should help people get to know each other better and solve the problem of awkward silence. They liked the idea of a questions app on a phone so that conversation starters were always accessible in your back pocket, but wanted the phone to be forgotten once the conversation got going.
This is why Party Qs is committed to no comments in the app, so that people can stay focused on what truly matters — being present with the people they’re with and not just interacting via their phones.
Soon, Party Qs grew to hundreds of thousands of downloads and became the top questions app for conversation starters on both iOS and Android, leading to a cover feature story in Wired Magazine in 2020.
Today, Party Qs has over 2,150 hand-curated questions in over 48 categories including Work From Home, Dinner With Friends, Enneagram, Love Languages, Jokes, Riddles, Marriage, and more. Dave and CP love to hear from users about how Party Qs is being used to draw people closer at date nights, marriages, dinner parties, classrooms, coffee shops, work meetings, church gatherings, traveling, and more.
In 2023, Dave and CP began working on the Party Qs Conversation Starters Card Game, a set of the 150 most popular questions in Party Qs. It’s expected to be available in late 2023.
